You want a gold iPhone 5s but just can't get one, don't sweat. Raffi Jaharian, the VP of gold, is back to let you know how to get your hands on one. All at the low, low price of just double the regular retail price.
Because of course, gold is best. Best. Best. Best. Enjoy!
Rene, Peter, Richard, and special guest Kevin Michaluk of CrackBerry.com talk all about the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5s launch day, including the lack of gold iPhone 5s models available, and their first impression of both phones!
Still, never one to waste an opportunity to turn water into wine, the Mobile Nations video crew combed through their footage from the launch event this morning and edited it into another adventure of mobile madness for all of us to enjoy. So here it is, the tall tale of a boy, his lust for golden gadgets, and his epic, financially disastrous, victory!
Apple launched the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s today and while the pop-art inspired iPhone 5c - thanks to it being an easier-to-manufacture branch of last year's iPhone 5 with an even easier-to-manufacture polycarbonate shell - was, by all accounts, in plentiful supply despite pre-orders starting a week ago, the higher-end iPhone 5s was not. Especially the gold version. My Apple Store had 7 and no 16GB models. Other stores we've heard about had 2 to 10. We haven't heard of non-Apple retailers having many, if any gold stock either. By any measure, they were incredibly, ludicrously constrained. And the reaction by die-hard, line-up-overnighter customers has been loud.
We've talked a lot about the rumored gold iPhone 5s in recent days, but a new leaked image out of Japan (by way of Nowhereeelse.fr) claims to show the shell of the phone in all its glory. Unlike some previous images that have done the rounds, this comes bearing the Apple logo, the iPhone branding, and is a healthy shade of Champagne, as we're expecting it to be.
The internet has been abuzz lately with rumors of Apple releasing a gold, or champagne colored, iPhone 5s at the September iPhone event. In the spirit of crazy rumors and getting pumped for an Apple event, we'll go along with it for the photo contest this week. Anything gold or champagne colored is fair game but as always, the photo must be taken with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and only be edited with iOS apps.
The possibilities are endless and we're excited to see what you guys think up for this one!
The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, August 27th, at 10pm Eastern time.

There's a bunch of rumors and speculation making the rounds about Apple adding gold to the color options for the upcoming iPhone 5s. I've heard the same rumors I'm guessing others have, but probably from different sources. I joked about it yesterday, saying we might soon have Threepio Gold to add to the existing Vader Black and Storm Trooper White lineup. But beyond rumors, speculation, and jokes - and even a gold iPhone poll we ran - I'm not sure what to think of the idea.
