Apple sells four million iPhone 4S in three days

Apple has announced that they have sold four million iPhone 4S handsets in the first three days of sales, doubling the sales figures of the iPhone 4 in the same period.

“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”

In addition Apple has also announced that 25 million users have upgraded to iOS 5 and 20 million of them have signed up for iCloud as well.

WeatherPro update hits, brings iCloud support and increased radar support

No one likes when their favorite application is left out of the update party, and the folks behind WeatherPro didn't want you to feel that way either. An update has hit the AppStore for WeatherPro users that enables iCloud support for those of you who have updated to iOS 5 along with increased radar support. Knowing the weather for the day ahead is always pretty important to many of us, no one likes to walk out of the door in their finest of clothing and step right into the middle of a wild thunderstorm, do they?

iCloud replacing MobileMe, and it's Free

MobileMe will no longer cost you $99. Actually, as of today, MobileMe will cease to exist at all. MobileMe It's being replaced by iCloud, which will consist of a collection of apps.

iCloud will let you wirelessly sync all data to the cloud, as well as perform automatic daily backups from your device. This is going to come in very handy when getting a new iOS device.

iPhone 4S coming at WWDC? [rumor madness]

Electric Pig claims Apple PR has been inviting top UK journalists to WWDC next month and guesses it's... to have them there for an iPhone 4S launch. WWDC takes place June 6 through June 10 and this is where Apple is set release iOS 5.

A source tells us that Apple’s UK iPhone PR team is approaching journalists from major publications to fly out to the event in San Francisco next month. The obvious conclusion would be that Apple is announcing a new iPhone. Or rather, an updated model. The iPhone 4S is slated as a stop-gap before the appearance of a true, ‘&%!*, they’ve done it again!’ game-changer next year.
