What are you looking forward to most from WWDC 2014?

What are you most looking forward to from WWDC 2014?

Today's the day. At 10 a.m. Pacific time, Tim Cook and other selected Apple executives will take to the stage at Moscone Center in San Francisco to kick off WWDC 2014 with the keynote presentation. For those of us who aren't developers, this is one of the most exciting parts. The part where we learn about what's new in iOS and OS X, maybe even get word on some new Mac hardware. So, what are you looking forward to, what do you want to see?

What should Apple do with the Beats headphone line? [Poll]

What should Apple do with the Beats headphone line? [Poll]

The Apple/Beats deal might be official now but a lot of questions remain. Will Apple keep the Beats brand? What roles will Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre play as Apple executives? Will Beats under Apple continue to produce stylish, high-priced, bass-intesive, headphones? It's that last one I'm curious about right now... What should Apple do with Beats headphones?

Should they keep the headsets as-is, Beats-branded and bass-heavy? Should the consolidate them under the Apple-branded EarPods line? Should they toss out everything and make a new line of great, accurate-sounded headsets for the next generation? (With super bass-boost button if needed?). Or should Apple just get out of the headset business entirely and focus on devices and services?

Apple TV v Chromecast v Roku v Fire TV: Which would you choose?

Apple TV v Chromecast v Roku v Fire TV. Which would you choose?

We're lucky to be blessed with so many good options when it comes to streaming online media. The space recently got a little more crowded with Amazon introducing its first effort, the Fire TV. And, while we're naturally fans of the Apple TV in these parts, the fact we're spoiled for choice is nothing but good. More choice also means that we're more likely to find one that meets our own specific needs. So which would you choose? And why?

Would you get a HTC One (M8) style Dot View case for your iPhone?

Would you get a HTC One style Dot View case for your iPhone?

One of the more awesome new features that came with the launch of the new HTC One (M8) has given us a quick run through of it in the video up top. It looks awesome, and has HTC created a case that you'd love to have for your iPhone?

It isn't all out gimmick, either. The case actually has a capacitive layer so you can uses gesture controls to answer and reject calls, activate voice dialing, and even double-tap to turn on the Dot View display. But it looks cool as hell – or so we think!

iOS 7.1 battery life the same or worse than before say iMore readers

A week ago we ran a reader poll asking about your iOS 7.1 battery life, and we've had some interesting results. A full week after the update came out, we'd all had a decent amount of time to discharge and recharge our iPhone and iPad batteries and get a better feel for whether or not anything had changed. Battery life differs from person to person, and in our sampling it looks as if the bad press on the issue may have had some standing.
