Popcap shows off new Dark Ages content for Plants vs. Zombies 2 at E3 2014

The folks at Popcap were at E3 2014 giving us a sneak peek at the next update for Plants Vs Zombies 2. The mushrooms you know and love from the original game are back, offering a unique way to gather sunshine points at nighttime. Now the free mushroom attackers will wither away over time, but you also have a new plant which will make a zombie drop additional sunshine as it shambles towards your stalwart front line.

Original Plants vs. Zombies game finally gets updated to support the iPhone 5, and obviously the iPhone 5s

The original Plants vs. Zombies game by PopCap has been updated a few times in the past year and it's been maddening to me that not one of those updates contained support for the larger display of the iPhone 5. Luckily, the original game has finally been updated with support for the larger iPhone models. This is great news for people like me who don't particular care for the freemium model of Plants vs Zombies 2. Better late than never, right?

Mobile gamers spent sizeable amount of cash on in-app purchases in 2011

Information Solutions Group recently published some research about mobile gaming across smartphones and tablets. The survey data was pulled from 1,004 gamers across the UK and U.S., from an initial sample size of 2,301. There were a lot of interesting takeaways, including that 39% had spent cash in 2011 on game content (like extra levels) or in-game currency.
