The popular IM client BeejiveIM is now available on iPad. It offers much of the same functionality of it’s iPhone cousin, but really takes advantage of the iPad screen real estate. Here are the key features that BeejiveIM boasts to bring:

Reliable and efficient networking: be connected 24/7, and it’s gentle on your battery

Be connected even after you close the application. Get notified instantly when you get a new message with push notifications

Works with multiple IM networks, multiple accounts per network: AIM/iChat, MSN, Yahoo, GoogleTalk, Facebook IM, ICQ, Jabber, and MySpace IM

Send and receive files, including pictures and voice notes. View and forward received documents.

Desktop-like instant messaging with all of your IM buddies from a single intuitive user interface.

I have spent a little time with BeejiveIM for iPad and I find the experience to be wonderful. The UI is strait forward and the app is very stable. Notifications come in quickly as well. I dare say that BeejiveIM offers the best IM experience currently available on the iPad.

If you pick this one up, let us know what you think!

Nelson wrote in to tell us a little about WaKi SNAP!, a new game now available in the iTunes App Store:

WaKi SNAP! was created as our first project for the iPhone and we wanted to create something that used the touch capabilities of the iPhone in an innovative and immersive way…basically, something that allows two players to both enjoy the game on the one phone at the same time, which is different to the majority of the games out there.

We wanted to make something that was fun, simple to play, and almost universally known by both children and adults. The challenge was also to keep the interface as clean and minimalist as possible so that there was little clutter and the main focus was on displaying the graphics of the cards in as large a size as possible. Thus, WaKi SNAP! was born!

Mark wrote in to tell us about Arcade Hoops, and was gracious enough to share some great info:

I think one interesting thing about the game is its back

Mark wrote in to tell us about Arcade Hoops, and was gracious enough to share some great info:

I think one interesting thing about the game is its back story. It was developed by Garry Kitchen and David Crane. David was a co-founder of Activision and Garry co-founded Absolute Entertainment. These guys worked together on some famous old school games like Donkey Kong for Atari, Pitfall and Decathlon.

They’ve decided to put these skills to work in a very new medium, and I hope you’ll be impressed with the results.

The other story is the quality of the game and the intensity of the game play. You can look at virtually any review online, either on the iTunes site or off- they are all glowing. People are really amazed that this game is available for $1.99. I think it’s because of the soundtrack, the 3D imagery, and the speed of the game play – plus some extra touches like a trash-talking jumbotron.

Any giving it a try? Let us know what you think!

Shards is a hybrid that combines inlay and breakout style games. Each level is composed of four types of triangles: floor, empty, wall, and void. You must first fill the empty triangles by tapping triangle based shapes in that appear
in a bubble that the player controls with tilt movements. Hedronism is a permutation puzzle. You start on a faceted globe and can move to your immediately adjacent neighbors changing their color in a predictable sequence. The goal is to turn the globe into any single color in the shortest time possible. Advancing to the next level increases the number of colors. Best time is kept for individual levels and for the difficulties easy, medium and hard.

Thanks John!
