What do you most want to see at the iPhone 5 event? [Poll]

What do you want to see from Apple at the iPhone 5 event?

After weeks and months of speculation, Apple's 2012 iPhone event day is upon us! We've laid it all out for you in our iOS 6 preview, iPhone 5 preview, and September 12 event preview. We've had our say on the iMore show.

Now it's your turn! What do you expect to see from Apple at the iPhone 5 event? Do you love the iPhone 5 design that's been leaked, or are you secretly hoping for something surprisingly new? Is it finally time for Apple to ship iTunes 11 and put the old, bloated, beast out of its misery? What about the iPad mini? Do you really think Apple will make us wait until October, or do you want it now? Could there be a surprise in iOS 6 like widgets? Could Apple have a subscription music service up their sleeve?

And what about my dream Bluetooth 4.0 iPod nano watch? Will I get it?

Vote in the poll up top and give me the details in the comment below. Tell me, iMore nation, what do you most want to see from Apple today?

iPhone 5 pre-orders on Friday, September 14?

iMore previously heard Apple was planning to start iPhone 5 pre-orders the same day as the announcement event, September 12. That was similar to the iPad 3 event and pre-order being on the same day back in March. Now, however, there's a rumor that Apple might do what they did in 2011 with the iPhone 4S and wait until the Friday after, in this case September 14.

New iPod touch (N78) once again rumored to be widescreen, not as powerful as iPhone 5

As tomorrow's September 12 iPhone event draws closer, more information is also being rumored about the new iPod touch as well. That includes its codename, N78, another source saying it'll be 1136x640 just like the new iPhone, but also a rumor saying it won't be as fast.

September 12 preview: Imagining Apple's new iPhone event

Back on July 30, iMore learned Apple would be holding a special event on September 12, 2012. Last week, Apple went and made it official. In between and since, we've been subjected to a flood of rumors fast and furious. Sorting the sane ones, the legit part leaks and software sneaks, supply chain gossip and retail chatter, from the 100% crazy stuff isn't always simple. Apple's a supremely secretive company. They take great pains to build hype without giving much, if anything away. But they're also a company that sticks to a tried-and-true formula. Based on their past behavior, we can try and predict their future behavior. And based on their past events, we can make some educated guesses about this week's event.

Apple September 12 event wallpaper

Apple is finishing getting all the banners in place at Yerba Buena for the September 12 event where we'll likely see the iPhone 5 and new iPods. At first the Yerba Buena banners just looked like streams of color but an eagle eyes MacRumors reader noticed that tilted your head and squinted just so, Apple iOS icons were revealed within. More precisely, the Music, Safari, iTunes Store, Stocks, and Game Center icons had been stretched vertically, and in some cases flipped over, to create the background. Make of that what you will.

For my part, I took a couple hours this morning to play around and see what I could do with those same icons, and the result is below in convenient iOS wallpaper form (2048x2048 so it'll fit everything from your Retina iPad on down).

iMore will be providing complete coverage, color, commentary, and context throughout the week, of course, and kick it into overdrive on Wednesday (until we look as stretched, color-shifted, and motion-blurred as some of those icons!)

Meanwhile, touch and hold the image below to save it to your iOS device Camera Roll, then jump into Settings,Brightness & Wallpaper, Wallpaper, Camera Roll, and set, scale, and crop it just exactly how you like.
