New to iPhone and curious how to connect to a Wi-Fi network? Wi-Fi is faster than 3G and if you're on a tiered plan it's a great way to avoid wasting your precious data. This may seem simple for those of us who have had our iPhones for a while but if you haven't done it before, stay with us after the break to find out how to use Wi-Fi!

Here's how to connect to a Wi-Fi network on your iPhone or iPod touch. (It's also similar on iPad though the Settings app looks a little different.)

Launch Settings and make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on.

Check the available networks that appear under: Choose a Network.

Tap network you would like to join.

Enter the network password. If it's especially complicated, email it to your iPhone and cut and paste it in.

Bonus tip: If you're at Starbucks, the airport, or somewhere else that has free or paid Wi-Fi, a page may slide up asking you for an account login or to agree to their terms of service. Just fill this in the same way you'd log in via the web on a laptop. If you're not sure what the Wi-Fi password is, ask an employee or the administrator.

I hope this has helped out those new to smartphones!

iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad moving at a slow crawl or just feels laggy and buggy and trying to figure out how to get it back up to speed? There are few things that you can do try. Stay with us after the break to find out how to help your iPhone out.

Have you ever wondered how to send a text message to several people and have their replies reach the whole group? This feature is known as group messaging. To learn exactly what group messaging entails and how to enable it, follow along after the break!

Enabling group messaging is a simple task; but first, let's make sure you understand exactly what group messaging is. Basically, this setting controls whether or not the complete address list is sent to everyone in the group.

When OFF, each recipient will be unaware that anyone else received the same message.

If you have group messaging set to ON, but your recipient does not, then that recipient will not see the group list.

If both you and the recipient have group messaging enabled, then all recipients are displayed.

When a recipient of the message replies, it is sent to all members of the group.

All messages are included in a single thread and the senders' names will be displayed above each message.

If Group Messaging is enabled, messages sent to the group are billed as a single message.

Now that it's understood what all that group messaging entails, how do you enable it? Simple:

Launch Settings

Tap Messages

Toggle "Group Messaging" to ON

There you have it! Now you're ready to partake in group text conversations. Have fun and let us know if you have any questions!

UPDATE: Our commenters have pointed out that this feature appears to only be available on AT&T.

Just get a new iPhone 4 or iPod touch (2010) and curious how make a video call with FaceTime? There are several different ways to initiate a FaceTime call: you can do so from contacts or messages, during a voice call, or speak the command with Voice Control. One thing to keep in mind is that you must be connected to WiFi in order to use FaceTime. To find out how, follow us after the break!

Initiate a FaceTime call via Contacts

Open Contacts

Select the contact you would like to have a FaceTime call with

Scroll to the bottom of the contact info

Tap FaceTime

Initiate a FaceTime call during a phone call

Start a phone call

Tap FaceTime from the call screen

Initiate a FaceTime call via Messages (iOS 4.2)

Open Messages

Select the conversation with the contact you wish to have a FaceTime call with

Scroll to the top of the conversation (tap the time at the top of the screen)

Tap FaceTime

Initiate a FaceTime call with Voice Control (iOS 4.2)

Hold down home button to activate Voice Control

Say "FaceTime [contact]"

(How to use Voice Control)

Add a FaceTime contact to your favorite

Open Contacts and select the desired contact

Scroll to the bottom and tap "Add to Favorites"

Select the appropriate phone number/email address

If the phone number is not already on your Favorites list, then you will be prompted to select Voice Call or FaceTime. Select FaceTime.

If the phone number is already on your Favorites list, then it will automatically be added as a FaceTime call

FaceTime favorites will be marked with a movie icon

Bonus Jailbreak tip: My3G can let you FaceTime over the 3G network when you're not on Wi-Fi. Just keep an eye on your data usage!

There you have it! You are now ready to have a FaceTime conversation with your friends and family. Keep in mind that the recipient must also have an iPhone 4 or an Apple ID associated with an iPod touch (2010) or have installed the beta for FaceTime for Mac. Now go, have fun!

Heading out to family and friends for the holidays and curious how to easily find their addresses in the iPhone, iPod touch, or Maps app? Well here is a great tip to make navigating a little bit easier, and we'll show it to you after the break!

If you are like me you don't memorize anyone's contact information anymore. You simply enter their phone number, email address, website, and address into your contacts list on your iPhone and then, whenever you need it, you just tap on it. Luckily Apple ties iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad Contacts into the other apps, like Maps!

First, if you haven't done so yet, make sure you've entered address information for the Contacts you will be visiting. Then:

Open the Maps application

Select Directions on the bottom menu

Select the Start box and choose "Current Location"

Select the End box and start typing in the contacts name

Select the contact once it appears

Let it load and click on Start at the top right

Bonus tip: If you're in Contacts, you can tap right on the address to switch to Maps and see where they're located.

Now you can be on the way to your destination without having to type in the address manually. Let us know if you plan to use this feature as you hit the roads this holiday season.

Daily tips will range from beginner-level 101 to advanced-level ninjary. If you already know this tip, keep the link handy as a quick way to help a friend.
Frustrated that your iPhone auto-correct dictionary has "learned" an incorrect word and curious how to reset it? Worried you might have a damnyouautocorrect moment when SMS'ing that important contact? Apple doesn't give you very many options when it comes to editing dictionary entries but if your iPhone has learned to incessantly auto-correct something that isn't right, there's an easy way to fix it. We'll show you how after the break.

Until Apple gives us the option to individually edit entries into the keyboard dictionary, the only option we have is to reset it. Not ideal, but it does fix any incorrect entries the phone may have learned. As a side note, you can also do this on the iPad and iPod Touch as well.

Go to Settings: General: Reset

Tap Reset Keyboard Settings.

Your keyboard dictionary will reset back to factory default.

I've had a few times where my iPhone or iPad has learned an annoying word combination from me either entering a word wrong and dismissing the auto-correct on accident, or from me using an abbreviation. I abbreviated Olive Garden to OG only one time and my iPhone decided every time I typed the word "of", it would auto-correct it to OG. Very annoying, but this simple trick fixed it.

So if you guys have had issues, give this a try and let us know how it works for you!

It’s time for some good old forum action. From the Forums is a great way to see what all of the current hot topics are on the TiPb forums. In order to create any new threads of your own or reply to any of the existing threads, you must be a registered member. Becoming a member is a simple process that will only take a few minutes out of your day, so if you have not already already done so, head on over and register now.

If you are a AT&T customer, we are pretty sure you are well aware that MMS has finally been activated on our IPhones. Well... for most of us that is. Some of you are still having issues getting it working. Stop by the official AT&T MMS threadand let us know how your experience has been so far.

This next thread was started by DBlanco and he thinks the iPhone is a perfect device. While many of you would agree with this there's an equal amount of you who would disagree. Stop by the thread for yourself and speak your mind. My feeling is, yes the iPhone is a great device but no single device is 100% perfect. There is always room for improvement.

This thread was a started a while back by Erika78 and she wants to know why you decided to leave your previous phone and make the jump to iPhone? With our forums growing by the day this is one of those threads that will never die. Join in on the conversation and let us know why you left your old device.

Have some iPhone tips and tricks that you'd like to share? Perhaps you are in need of some general help? This is the forum you need to visit. That is the place to find answers to your iPhone questions along with all the tips and tricks you can imagine.

See you on the forums!
