Twitterrific 5.6 has arrived on the App Store, adding some important new features, fixes, and improvements, the most notable of which is timeline streaming. Timeline streaming continuously updates your Twitter timeline while on Wi-Fi, and is enabled by going Twitterrific's settings, and selecting "Stream Timelines on Wi-Fi".
Twitterrific by the Iconfactory has been updated to better reflect the new iOS 7 design language. And if you thought it fit in before, you ain't seen nothing yet. Starting with a fantastic frosted Ollie splash screen, and moving into a bevy of design and programming touches simple but profound, with Twitterrific 5.5 the Iconfactory actually managed to make a great, future-thinking app even better.
Last year, after Twitterrific 5 launched, I loved the pure, Vader black look so much I changed my wallpaper to get the full-on blackout look. Then, in June of this year, Apple showed off iOS 7 and it was, for the most part, whiter than Storm Trooper white. Now, Twitterrific 5 has updated with a new, iOS 7-friendlier design, and just looking at it in black suddenly felt... heavy.
Twitterrific for iPhone and iPad has been update with support for Readability and Droplr as a bookmarking and image service, respectively, along with other improvements and bugfixes. These include fixes for notifications and VoiceOver issues.
Twitterrific, the elegant Iconfactory Twitter client for iPhone and iPad, has been updated to support one of their most requested features -- push notifications. Currently in beta, users are being added to Twitterrific's push system in batches of 1,000 to make sure servers stay up and the experience remains positive for everyone. If you don't get into the push beta immediately, just try again in a few days. (You can find it in the Settings section.)
Twitterrific, the original and yet most modern Twitter app on iOS, has updated to version 5.1 and with it comes a bevy of new features. You get muffling of #hashtags and domains, and you can tap on a muffled tweet to peek at it. Settings are now synced across your devices thanks to iCloud integration, and support has been added for img.ly, mobypicture, and twitpic. If you're on iOS 6, you also get Avenir as a font choice. There are even more improvements and enhancements as well.
Judge not the Twitterrific 5.0.2 update by its point size. More than just the usual bug fixes and performance tweaks lie within. The Iconfactory has added inline image previews that, when tapped upon, launch a new, chrome-less image viewer that still lets you pinch to zoom and long press to get additional options. You also get the new full screen browser and simple reading modes, including Instapaper and Readability, and a new gesture to re-tweet with comment -- just tap and hold the re-tweet button.
Marc, Seth, and Rene talk to Gedeon Maheux and David Lanham of the Iconfactory about Twitterrific 5, their completely re-designed Twitter app, and about iTunes 11, Apple's completely re-designed… everything app. This is Iterate.
