TiPb asks: Are you going to Jailbreak your iOS 4.2.1 iPhone or iPad with greenpois0n?

Now that greenpois0n is available to Jailbreak your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running iOS 4.2.1 -- untethered! -- are you going to do it? I know many have been waiting to update, living on iOS 4.1 because they wanted their untethered Jailbreak, and others have been stuck on 4.2.1 not willing to Jailbreak without it (that's me!). Ally's How to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 iPhone, iPad untethered via greenpois0n (for Mac) tutorial is ready and waiting...

So who's Jailbreaking now? (And yes, I may just do mine again on iPhone Live! I've been practicing DFU mode, really!)

Poll above and please give me the details in the comments below!

This is where I'm at. What a waste... unless they can port it quickly to 4.3. I like the idea of tethering but more and more its not providing value vs. being with the latest iOS release.
Now that AT&T and Verizon will have hotspot technology I have virtually no interest in jailbreak. I'm glad that jailbreaking is helping push iOS to be more though.

Exactly. Because it is Mac-only, I can't use it with my pc, so I will keep using my iPad with 3.x and KEEP WAITING FOR "MULTITASKING."
I am so damned ready for 4.y, but I don't want to give up 3G U restrictor. Otherwise, the 3G iPad would drive me fugging nuts!

I'm def JB'ing my new iPad that came with 4.2.1 pre-installed. Will wait for 4.3 JB for iPhone though!

i'm using greenpois0n because I have an xmas iPad so this currently is the only way for me to get untethered. it's as simple as that :)

Well last night I tried to update to 4.2.1 on my iPhone 4 while preserving my baseband with TU. Couldn't get the update to work, it keeps stalling at the same point about 60% done and just hanging there. Tried using a windows PC which I didn't have my SHSH blobs saved to and kept getting error 1013. Decided updating my baseband isn't worth it so now I'm trying to restore to 4.1 again and having all kinds of problems. I'm extremely frustrated right now.

@FGM, go to your Windows hosts file and remove all lines that have gs.apple.com in them. Reboot the computer and try again. It should work.

I want to! Really bad! But IT'S NOT WORKING! I've been on tethered redsn0w (iPhone 4) for a long time now, and when I try to run it it gives me the initialized error! But using redsn0w to boot tethered works again

you should hold the home button down the entire time that greenpois0n is jailbreaking. i played it safe and held it until my lockscreen showed up. it took a minute, but it was DEF worth the pain in the thumb. lol

Tried to download it on my Mac yesterday and the file had errrors and couldn't open it. I've tried to JB using redsn0w and wasn't successful. I was so happy with my 4.1 JB, miss it :(

Why does it seem that the longer a phone is jailbroken the more it crashes even if u havent changed anything in weeks

Really?? My 3Gs is still at jailbroken iOS 4.0.1 and didn't have a problem at all. Now i'm waiting in more patience for the windows version of this awsome greenpois0n to come.

No. Need windows version. Want to preserve baseban. Need less bugs. I4 4.1 JB
Thanks for all the hard work getting it out. I need to wait.

My issue is, how stable is the JB? Most of the posts I have read seem to indicate that the program is really buggy at this point.

Windows user so no joy for me. Running 4.2.1 now, but I'll just wait for the untethered JB for 4.3.

My 3GS (old bootrom) has already been jailbroken with PwnageTool since 4.2.1 came out. I couldn't use an iPhone without jailbreak - if JB won't be possible on the iPhone 5, I'll switch to Android in an instant, although I'd feel quite remorseful.

If I do, it will only be for MiWi. I'd prefer to use Personal Hotspot in 4.3 but AT&T won't let me with my unlimited plan.

This is a good example of a misleading poll. It makes it look like there are far more jailbreakers than not. You should omit the TeamPure option, since jailbreakers are obviously the ones who will respond. Instead, you should ask jailbreakers specifically what their plans are regarding greenpois0n (yes, no, waiting). If you want to gauge the jailbreaking versus pure numbers, that should be a separate poll. However, again, you have to expect that jailbreakers will be much more inclined to participate. By nature, they are more vocal than the average user.

you know this site does a poll on half of their blogs whether it will be misleading or not

JB is to unreliable. I'm a trucker and since I'm away from my Sync machine for weeks at a time I will stay with stock iOS.

I don't want to J/B my iPhone, but I might so that I can tether my iPad when I get it... We'll see, but for now I'm sticking with #TeamPure! Coming from a BB, I just haven't felt the need to tweek such an awesome phone.

Will do it for my iPad and wait for either 4.3 or 5 for my IP4. I'm happy with my JB 4.1 on my iPhone. I hate to JB IP4 again and have to put back lockinfo, bitesms, and the other goodies I have on it.

Did it this morning! No problems!!! FaceTime over 3G is the S&@T!!!! And having your own $FREE.99 per Month hotspot ain't bad either!

Can't justify JB anymore. Nothing worth the annoyances/battery life/crashing.
The wifi Hotspot on 4.3 is free. FaceTime would be nice over 3G but I think you have to pay for that when you JB anyways right?

I used the Windows version yesterday. No problems at all and went smooth. There hasn't been any battery degradation that I've noticed and I have crashed even once. (not counting reboots after Cydia updates etc.)
I appreciate their hard work and if I didn't JB my iPhone I'd probably get and Android OS phone. So I'm glad they did it and I'm glad I did it. Smoooth sailin' so far.
