Twelve South releases HiRise charging stand for iPhone 5 and iPad mini

Twelve South, creators of accessories such as the HoverBar and PlugBug, have released a new product, the HiRise for iPhone 5 and iPad mini. A charging station, you install your own Lightning connector inside of the HiRise, letting you adjust how your device sits on it. This allows you to keep whatever case you use on your phone, says Twelve South:

Using one of three different adjustable clips and your Apple Lightning Cable (not included), HiRise positions the Lightning connector at a raised height to connect and charge your iPhone 5 or iPad mini. This allows HiRise to work with most cases, including cases with recessed connections no other dock can fit, like the OtterBox® Defender, Speck CandyShell and, of course, the BookBook for iPhone. The rear support also adjusts forward and back to accommodate the different thicknesses of various cases and shells.

The HiRise is made only for the iPhone 5 and iPad mini. Twelve South does not recommend using the iPad 4 with the stand because of its size. Twelve South also offers a stand for Mac laptops called the HiRise. The HiRise for iPhone 5 and iPad mini is available today from Twelve South for $34.99.

Thanks for the heads up! Just ordered one because it looks "future proof" and should work with upcoming iPhones and a wide variety of cases (I hope!).

Still looking for a lightning-compatible charger/stand that holds my phone upright like my Kensington Nightstand does for my 4S.
