Twelve South releases HoverBar 3, now holds iPad Air, mini

Twelve South, makers of popular accessories for Mac and iOS devices, have updated their HoverBar iPad mounting arm. The HoverBar 3 can now hold an iPad Air, any iPad mini, as well as the iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4.

The new HoverBar comes with three clips to accomodate different device sizes. Additionally, the clips can now be attached to an included kickstand that lets you prop your device up on a flat surface when not attached to the HoverBar. As always, the HoverBar lets you mount your iPad almost anywhere. You can adjust the exact position by adjusting the clip holding the iPad, which pivots on a ball joint on the flexible arm of the stand.

The HoverBar 3 is available for $99.99, and includes the bar, three clips, and the kickstand. If you already own a HoverBar, you can buy any clips you need separately. Each clip is individually available for $19.99 on the Twelve South store.

Well there is free shipping in the US, and yes they are out of their mind. Way too expensive. I am guessing it will not work with a case.

I'd *love* to have a Hoverbar to attach my iPad to my quarter desk. I think it would look good floating next to my iMac. But, maaaaaan that's expensive for that.

I'd be willing to pay about half that... $49 + sales tax the very most.
