Firewatch, a new game that has received quite a bit of attention ahead of release for its visuals and unique story, is now available for purchase. In Firewatch, players find themselves in the shoes of a fire lookout named Henry in Wyoming in 1989. You start out in your lookout perched above the wilderness, with only your supervisor, Delilah, to keep you company over your radio. However, you're eventually drawn out into the forest by a strange happening, where you'll have to explore the wilderness while maintaining contact with Delilah. Here's a quick rundown of what you can expect from Firewatch:
- A stunningly beautiful wilderness environment that expands as you explore.
- A tailor-made story: the choices you make shape the narrative and build relationships.
- An edge-of-your-seat mystery.
- Secrets and discoveries to be made over every hill.
Firewatch is backed by publisher Panic, which has been behind a number of quality Mac and iOS titles over the years, so it may be worth a look if you've enjoyed Panic games in the past. In any event, you can currently pick the game up on Steam at a 10% launch discount for $18.
