Apple officially launches Single Sign-On cable logins for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV

Apple has launched the cable account Single Sing-On feature for iPhones and iPads running iOS 10 and Apple TVs running tvOS 10. The feature is currently available only in the United States and is supported by nine cable providers.

According to Apple, the following providers support the service:

  • Cable ONE
  • CenturyLink Prism
  • DirecTV
  • Dish
  • GVTC
  • GTA
  • Hawaiian Telcom
  • Hotwire
  • MetroCast
  • Service Electric Cablevision
  • Sling

Additionally, Apple says that apps will need to be updated to support the feature, and support may differ between iOS and tvOS versions. The list of apps that support Single Sign-On is as follows:

  • A&E (iOS only)
  • Bravo Now (tvOS only)
  • E! Now (tvOS only)
  • Hallmark Channel Everywhere (iOS and tvOS)
  • History (iOS only)
  • Lifetime (iOS only)
  • NBC (tvOS only)
  • Syfy Now (tvOS only)
  • Telemundo Now (tvOS only)
  • USA NOW (tvOS only)
  • Watch HGTV (iOS and tvOS)
  • Watch Food Network (iOS and tvOS)
  • Watch Cooking Channel (iOS and tvOS)
  • Watch DIY (iOS and tvOS)
  • Watch Travel Channel (iOS and tvOS)

With Single Sign-On, you should only need to enter your cable login credentials once, with apps supporting the feature asking to use those credentials, rather than asking you to sign in manually again. You can use Single Sign-On with an iPhone or iPad running iOS 10 or later, and a fourth-generation Apple TV running tvOS 10 or later.
