Camera+ 5 gets new design, The Lab editing suite

Camera+ has been updated to version 5, a major, free update that adds a host of new features, including a redesign for iOS 7, a new app icon, and The Lab. The Lab is the name for the Camera+ editing suite, which has been significantly upgraded with this release. The different tools you can use, including Clarity Pro, Straighten, Soft Focus, and Sharpen, are all the most powerful tools that Camera+ has had, with both new adjustments, as well as finer control over those previously available.

The developer, tap tap tap, says that The Lab requires some intensive processing, and as such, the iPhone 3GS won't get the full slate of tools. However, it will receive Rotate & Tilt, Straighten, Tint, Duotone, Soft Focus, Saturation, Temperature, and Exposure.

There have been other improvements with version 5.0. The exposure compensation and exposure lock controls have been split up for easier access to each tool. You can now crop iOS 7 wallpapers inside Camera+ as well. When you're finished editing a photo, you can apply a crop specifically for wallpapers on iOS 7. A couple of the tools have all been renamed. Effects is now Filters, and Borders is now Frames.

This is a free update for all existing users, and can be downloaded now from the App Store.
