DeskConnect gets a modern look and new features across iPhone, iPad, and Mac

DeskConnect, a utility that lets you send files, links, your clipboard, and more between your mobile devices and your Mac, has been updated to version 1.2 on iPhone, iPad, and OS X. DeskConnect has completely redone the user interface of the iPhone and iPad app for iOS 9, and added a sharing extension, and added integration with the Workflow app, which is also developed by the DeskConnect team.

  • Workflow integration (requires Workflow update)
  • iOS interactive notifications for quickly copying received items
  • 3D Touch for previewing received items
  • Added iOS push notification refresh for faster downloads
  • Added URL scheme
  • Added App Store push previews
  • Fixed crash when sending long videos
  • Fixed crash when sending documents from other apps in iOS 8
  • Fixed previewing unicode text
  • Improved accessibility
  • Automatically open Google Docs URLs in the Google Drive app, Netflix URLs in the Netflix app, Hulu URLs in the Hulu app, and workflows in the Workflow app
  • Bug fixes and other minor additions

Meanwhile, DeskConnect 1.2 for Mac has added compatibility with OS X El Capitan, including its dark mode. You can also view information on your device in the app's preferences, and there is now an "All" menu item. Automator actions have been fixed, and there have been a number of other small improvements and fixes.
