The image editor for humans is now even better

Mac image editor Acorn has been updated to version 4.5 today with a number of new features, improvements, and fixes. These changes include new international presets when creating an image, a new command, and better RAW support.

There are a lot of small, but important, additions in Acorn 4.5. When creating a new image, you can now choose from A3, A4, A5, and A6 size presets. You can now also merge your visibile items into a new layer by pressing Command-Option-Shift-E. This adds a new layer that is a composite of all of your visible layers. The new Document crop preset sets the crop for an image at 90% of the canvas size, and the aspect ratio will remain the same when resizing. The eraser tool now has precision mode much like the brush tool.

Changes have been made to a number of existing features. The Shape Generator sheet will now remember your previous settings. You can no longer set text spacing as a negative value. When you quit and restart, Acorn now remembers the colors you had selected. Compositing is now faster. Your existing layer filter presets will no longer be replaced when adding a new layer filter.

There are a host of other changes in Acorn 4.5. Tell us what you think of them below in the comments.
