At its F8 developer conference, Facebook announced its new Profile Expression Kit, which allows users to beef up their profile photos with videos from other apps. As an expansion to profile videos, which let Facebook users upload short clips to use in lieu of a photo, Facebook has partnered with a number of other apps and services to kick things off.

From Facebook:

The Facebook Profile Expression Kit lets people share videos they make in third-party apps directly into the Facebook profile video flow. The SDK is available now to a select group of beta partners for the iOS versions of their apps: MSQRD, Boomerang from Instagram, lollicam, BeautyPlus, Cinemagraph Pro from Flixel, and Vine. Consumers can now use these apps to create fun and personality-infused profile videos with just a few taps. Developers enjoy attribution within News Feed every time someone uploads a profile video created by their app.

If you already spend a lot of time in apps like Vine and Boomerang, this is a great way to easily port interesting clips directly to your Facebook profile. While only available to select iOS apps in beta right now, developers interested in adding integration to their app can read more about the SDK and apply to be included in the beta.
