Help guide the first wide-scale study of LGBTQ health with PRIDE Study

Developed by doctors at the University of California, San Francisco, the PRIDE Study app hopes to help build the first long-term study of the health of people in the LGBTQ community. Built with ResearchKit, the app allows members of the LGBTQ community to influence what aspects of their health are studied by doctors in the upcoming large-scale PRIDE Study.

Participants can expect the following from the PRIDE Study app:

  • Nominate, rank and discuss research topics in the community discussion forum
  • Share sensor data with researchers through Research Kit
  • Complete informational surveys
  • Share location and activity information with researchers

To use the app and participate in the study, you'll need to be at least 18 years of age or older, a resident of the U.S., and identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or other sexual or gender minority. The app notes that it will not dispense any actual medical advice, and is simply meant to gather input for the larger study.

You can get started with the PRIDE Study app right now by downloading it from the App Store.
