Homeworld Remastered Collection flies onto the Mac

The Homeworld Remastered Collection, which includes updated versions of classic space strategy games Homeworld and Homeworld 2, has arrived on the Mac. The collection was developed by Gearbox Software and ported to the Mac by Aspyr.

The collection's primary feature is the inclusion of completely remastered editions of Homeworld and Homeworld 2, both rebuilt in a new Homeworld 2 engine. However, there's something for the purists here as well, as both games are available in their original forms, recompiled for more modern computers and updated with compatibility fixes. Unlike the PC version, the Homeworld Remastered Collection for Mac does not contain multiplayer or mod support.

To run the Homeworld Remastered Collection, you'll need a Mac running OS X Maverics or higher, a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better, 4GB of RAM, and at least 512MB of VRAM from your video card. The Mac version of the collection is currently only avaialble through the Mac App Store, though Aspyr says that it will eventually come to Steam as well.
