Your Apple ID is the key to your personal Apple kingdom. It's what you use to sign in to iCloud, download apps from the App Store, play Apple Arcade games, and more.

If you don't have one yet, there are two easy ways to create an Apple ID. Here's how!

How to create an Apple ID using the Mac Music app

You can create a new Apple ID through the Music app on macOS Monterey on all the best Macs.

  1. Launch Music from your Dock or the Finder.
  2. Click Account on the toolbar.
  3. Select Sign In from the pull-down menu

  1. Click Create New Apple ID.
  2. Enter your personal information on the Create Apple ID page, including your email and password. Verify your password in the provided box. The email address and password you use will be your Apple ID — don't forget them!
  3. Click the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions (after reading them, of course).
  4. Select Continue.

  1. Add your payment information, including payment method, number, expiration date, and security code, and billing name and address. Apple won't charge you. You can also enter NONE as your payment information, bypassing the credit/bank account process.

  1. Choose Text Message or Phone Call to use to verify your identify.
  2. Add your phone number.
  3. Click Continue.

  1. Enter the verification code you received from text or phone call.
  2. Click Verify
  3. Enter the verification code you received through email.
  4. Click Verify

That's it — you're ready to go.

How to create an Apple ID on the web

If you're on Android or using Windows, this is the best way to create an Apple ID.

  1. Visit appleid.apple.com.
  2. Click Create Your Apple ID at the bottom.
  3. Enter the required information. The email address and password you use will be your Apple ID — don't forget them!
  4. Click Continue at the bottom of the page. You'll receive an email with a verification code.

Your Apple ID is born! From here, you can add credit cards to buy apps and iTunes content, add a shipping/billing address, and more!
