Hulu picks up picture-in-picture support on iOS 9

Hulu, the popular video streaming service, has updated its app for iOS 9. Specifically, Hulu now takes advantage of the iPad's picture-in-picture mode on iOS 9, the first major streaming service to do so.

Using picture-in-picture mode is simple. After you start your video, a new control should appear to the right of the settings gear icon on the playback bar. When you tap it, the playback window will be moved on top of your Home screen, and from there, you can watch you video while using any other app. You can resize the video and reposition it, as well.

Note that you'll need an iPad Air or newer, or an iPad mini 2 or newer in order to use picture-in-picture.

This update for Hulu also adds general iOS 9 compatibility. You can grab the update from the App Store now.
