Beats Music, recently acquired by Apple, is an on-demand music streaming service similar to services like Spotify and Rdio. With a Beats Music subscription, subscribers can create playlists, listen to entire albums, individual songs, and more. Beats Music also allows subscribers to download any music they'd like for offline playback from their catalog of over 20 million songs.

The Beats Music app for iOS supports both iPhone and iPad. When it comes to audio quality, Beats Music streams more content at a 320 kbps bit rate than any other music streaming service on the planet. For folks who want to discover new music, Beats Music offers up one of the best curation services currently available. You can either make a sentence describing the mood you're in or choose from hand picked content that is specifically catered to what you've already listened to in Beats Music.

In the summer of 2014, Beats Electronics, which includes both Beats Music and the Beats line of accessories, was purchased by Apple for $3 billion. Both Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are now included in Apple's list of executives. Beats Music also supports both Windows Phone and Android. As of now, Beats Music has stated that it will continue to support those platforms throughout the Apple acquisition.

When Beats Music initially launched in the beginning of 2014, customers could either sign up for service via the Beats Music website or AT&T customers were welcome to add Beats Music to their current wireless plan. In a later update, Beats Music began offering subscription options via in-app purchase as well. Beats Music is currently paid only and does not offer any free streaming like some other services do. Individual subscriptions currently cost $9.99 with family plans and access for up to 10 devices coming in at $14.99. You can also buy individual Beats Music subscriptions yearly for $99, which gives folks a slight discount over the monthly rate. Anyone looking to try out the service can do so free of charge for 14 days.
