U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh ruled this week that Apple will have to face the allegations of a plaintiff who claims in a lawsuit that the company failed to mention that messages from other Apple devices might be blocked if a person switched from using an iPhone to an Android device.

Judge Koh made her decision on Monday night, just 24 hours after Apple launched an online tool that makes it easier for an iPhone owner to switch to an Android or Windows Phone device and have not have their messages blocked on the iMessage service.

Even with that gesture, Koh ruled that the plaintiff in this lawsuit, Adrienne Moore, deserved to have her day in court. Koh wrote, "Plaintiff does not have to allege an absolute right to receive every text message in order to allege that Apple's intentional acts have caused an actual breach or disruption of the contractual relationship."
