LaCie has announced three new Thunderbolt 2 storage products, including new versions of their 5big and 2big RAID storage devices. They are also launching a new product called the 8big Rackmount Thunderbolt 2.

The 8big is the first Thunderbolt 2 rackmount device from LaCie, and features space for up to eight 6TB hard drives, with a total capacity of 48TB, and the unit itself is 1U tall. RAID 5 and 6 are both supported. LaCie promises data and component redundency in case of an unexpected hardware failure or downtime. The fans, disks, and power supply can all be swapped out and serviced by the user. The 8big can transfer data at a rate of up to 1,330MB/s.

The new 5big, which five hard drives, and 2big, which holds two drives, can now hold up to 30TB and 12TB, respectively. In addition to Thunderbolt 2, both devices support USB 3.0. The 5big reports RAID 5 and 6, while the 2big supports RAID 0 and 1. The 5big boasts transfer speeds of up to 1,050MB/s, while the 2big can deliver up to 420MB/s.

LaCie has yet to announce pricing or availability for these new devices.
