Following supposed leaks of the casings for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, yet another new set of photos has surfaced, with these said to be of Lightning connector-equipped EarPods. The headphones appear to retain the same design as the existing EarPods, simply with a Lightning connector instead of the more traditional 3.5mm headphone connector.

The switch from 3.5mm to Lightning would be a prudent step for Apple if it is indeed removing the headphone jack on its next iPhone. While the company could include an adapter with 3.5mm headphones, if its looking to encourage adoption of Lightning connectors for headphones, its seems smart to support that move in its own products.
