Oasis's back catalog comes to UK streaming music services

Although you've long been able to download music from rock band Oasis, the company's been a holdout on the music streaming front in their home market. That changes today as Oasis is now available to be streamed on services including Spotify, Deezer and Rdio, according to NME.

Oasis is one of a handful of bands that have held out from having their music available for streaming. Led Zeppelin finally acquiesced last year, but The Beatles and AC/DC remain unavailable.

2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe. Fans are hoping for a reunion concert of some type, but Noel Gallagher doesn't seem interested, according to the report.

It was recently reported that digital music sales declined in 2013 for the first time since the iTunes Store went online. While there are differing opinions on what caused the decline, it's almost certain that the increased popularity of streaming services like Spotify had something to do with it.

Alas, music licensing remains a byzantine, complicated and time consuming process, so it takes a while for stuff like Oasis coming to music streaming services to happen. The good news is that it has, and now Oasis fans can enjoy their music like so many other bands.
