Periscope for iPhone and iPad has been updated to version 1.3. This latest release for iOS introduces a number of improvements, most notably the ability to now skip ahead while watching a reply, 3D Touch support, as well as Maps 2.0 to allow viewers to check out an interactive perspective of a specific geographic location.

The ability to skip through replays has already been added to the Android version, so it's good to see the team behind Periscope bringing the iOS counterpart up to speed. As well as aforementioned changes, version 1.3 also brings the following:

  • New "Trending" section in the People Tab highlights an evolving list of recently popular broadcasters
  • Application Shortcuts for people with an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus. Use 3D Touch on the Periscope icon to start a broadcast, search for broadcasters, or teleport somewhere in the world
  • Thumbnails for live broadcast update periodically to more accurately reflect what is currently happening
  • Fixed a bug that would occasionally upload the wrong picture when sharing a screenshot capture on Twitter

You can download the Periscope update from the App Store.
