Pocket has updated its app to incorporate new features introduced in iOS 9. The app now allows you to find articles in your queue through a Spotlight search. There's also support for Picture-in-Picture mode on the iPad, through which you can take notes in the background while watching a video in Pocket in the foreground.

Here's a breakdown of the changes in Pocket version 6.0.1:

  • Spotlight Search: Use Spotlight to search for saved Titles and URLs and open them directly in Pocket's Article View.
  • Picture in Picture: Continue watching videos in Pocket while using other apps on your iPad.
  • Plenty of bug fixes and improvements made specifically for iOS 9. Enjoy!

While the base version of Pocket is free, there's a premium tier that costs $4.99 a month (or $44.99 yearly), which includes full-text search, personal backup of saved content and suggested tags.
