This is the Stir Kinetic Desk, the smartest table at CES

CES is home to the world’s largest gathering of consumer electronics. Of course new laptops, TVs, and smartphones will dominate the headlines, but there’s a whole other world of consumer tech to cover. We’re not big on tweeting from our refrigerators just yet, however we can definitely get behind the idea of having a standing desk that’s smarter than the one you’re using right now. The Stir Kinetic Desk just might be the brainiest desk not only at CES, but anywhere.

Standing desks are all the rage right now. If you spend more than a few hours at a desk in a given day you might want to start looking into some of the benefits of standing desks. It’ll help you lose weight, work on lower back strength, and countless other health benefits when you compare it to just sitting in the same spot for hours.

You can always go the do-it-yourself approach and build a standing desk. There are countless guides online on how to do that. There are also companies making standalone standing desks, some are adjustable and some aren’t. But if you really want to take it to another level you’re going to want the Stir Kinetic Desk.

The Stir Kinetic Desk is a beautiful piece of furniture. Its standout feature is the touchscreen in the bottom left of the desk. This is your interface into the software controlling your desk. Yes, even your desk now is going to be having updates delivered to it via Wi-Fi.

So why give a desk brains? To help get the most out of a standing desk. Stir Kinetic will earn your patterns, remember preferences, and help remind you to move throughout the day. You can effortlessly raise or lower your desk, so it also works as a regular sitting desk. We’re also big fans of all the space you have on the actual desk. There are two covers on the top that give you access to USB and power outlets.

It’s an incredible desk and by far the smartest one we’ve ever seen. Are we going to get one? We’d love to, but we’ll probably need to save up a bit first. The Stir Kinetic Desk starts at $3,890. You can of course customize it to match your personal preferences. White or espresso are available as the colors for the hardwood top, but you can also get some cool colors for the underside.
