Syllable for iPhone lets you speed read your news feeds, teaches you to read faster

Syllable for iPhone pairs with your read it later service and imports all your articles automatically into its own unique speed reading interface. Here you can adjust words per minute, how many words appear on the screen at a time, and more. Not only can you read articles distraction free, you actually learn to read faster through using Syllable.

The idea of Syllable may seem a little odd to some people at first but after using it for a few days, I have found it to be a quite enjoyable experience. Since you can edit settings like line spacing, font, words per minute, and words on a page, you can go at your pace and steadily increase it.

Syllable isn't meant to replace traditional news readers but it is an app I could see myself turning to when I want to catch up on news without the directions of images and other media. You can also copy and paste any link you want into Syllable directly which makes it easy to grab and save articles for later.

To mark an article in Syllable as read, just swipe it to the right to clear it. Syllable supports automatic import from Pocket, Readability, and Instapaper. If you've checked out Syllable, let us know what you think in the comments. Do you think it can help you learn to read faster? Let us know!
