TinyUmbrella update (4.1.13) allows iOS 4.2b3 SHSH blobs to be saved.

Semaphore has updated TinyUmbrella (4.1.13) to allow for the saving of iOS 4.2b3 SHSH blobs for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad. This is the first time SHSH blobs are being saved for a beta release and the significance is as of yet unknown, but semaphore tweeted that it might be used to assist the untethering of future jailbreaks. Since the release of iOS 4.2 is imminent, iOS 4.2b3 signatures will not be available for long.

You can download TinyUmbrella from the link below to save both iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2b3 SHSH blobs regardless of what firmware you are currently on and I recommend doing so immediately just in case they are needed down the line...

AT&T Activates 400-500K iPads 3G in Q3, using more data than iPhone

In addition to the 3.2 million iPhones AT&T activated on their network last quarter they also switched on 400-500K iPad 3G. What's more:

It's "surprising" how many business customers are approaching AT&T about the iPad.

Business Insider quips that Microsoft should look out, but given the profit share Apple has taken on iPhone and the low margins of typical PC hardware, what damage they may not do to unit sales they may well do to revenue.

What's also interesting is that iPad users are consuming more data than iPhone users though less than 3G laptop users and 75-80% are on the unlimited 2GB plan.

Orange, O2, Vodafone UK iPad 3G data plans

Orange was first out the gate with iPad 3G data plans in the UK, and now O2 and Vodafone are finally showing their hands as well. The plans certainly look more flexible than AT&T's US plans, though the lack of real unlimited data is apparent. No ability to add the iPad to an existing account like Rogers in Canada either.

Apple announces 1 million iPads sold

Apple has just announced sales of 1 million iPads since the US debut on April 3, along with 12 million app downloads from the iTunes App Store and 1.5 million ebook downloads from the iBookstore. Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, is happy:

“One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone. Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.”

Apple's iPad Wi-Fi + 3G debuted on April 30 and unofficial tallies have its sales of those SKUs at 300,000.

An amazing debut by any standards, but will growth match that of the iPhone?
