Should you care about the iPhone Forever plan on Sprint?

Are you one of those people who needs to have the latest iPhone as soon it comes out? Do you hate dishing out hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for the newest model every time? All the big U.S. carriers offer the iPhone but if Sprint is your preferred option, the iPhone Forever plan might be for you.

What is the iPhone Forever plan exactly?

The iPhone Forever plans is a program that allows you to lease an iPhone for 18 months but, after 12 months if there is an new iphone on the market you can upgrade instantly with no charge.

Wait a minute, lease?

Yes that's correct, just like leasing a car, you wouldn't technically own the iPhone. For some that may be a deal breaker, but if you really want the newest iPhone as soon as is comes out it's a very viable option.

How much does it cost?

Well the good news is it work with any phone plan that Sprint already offers. The bad news? It is an extra cost on top of your phone bill every month for the cost of the lease. So let's break that down.

For example let's say you have the 6G talk, text, and data plan that clocks in at $45 monthly. If you were to go on to the iPhone Forever plan and get yourself a nice new shiny 16GB iPhone 6s on lease, the monthly cost for the phone would be $26.39. So that means all together you would be paying $71.39 a month on the iPhone Forever plan.

Who should get this plan?

Like all phone plans, what works for you may be different than what works for someone else. However, the iPhone Forever plan isn't as crazy as it sounds. Instead of having to pay hundreds of dollars and sign a two-year contract to get a new iPhone 6s, you instead could pay a little extra each month. Not only do you get the iPhone 6s cheaper off the bat, you get to upgrade after 12 months of leasing.

This plans is really geared towards those people who always get the newest version of the iPhone as soon as they can. If that's you you can always check out the details:
