Microsoft's new Windows 365 service has made its debut, bringing with it the ability to run Windows on Safari on devices like the iPad and Mac.
As reported by our friends at Windows Central:
Windows 365, a cloud PC service that will let you take Windows 11 or Windows 10 with you wherever you go via the power of the cloud, has officially launched. It will enable you to bring Windows to just about any device, be they Mac, iPad, or Android tablet, and the minimum price to enter is $20 per month.
The service is primarily aimed at business and enterprise customers and lets users stream Windows via the Cloud. Specs begin with a 1vCPU PC that has 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and 12GB of outbound data for $20 a month.
As announced by Microsoft last month:
We're excited to announce Windows 365, a cloud service that introduces a new way to experience Windows 10 or Windows 11 (when it's generally available later this calendar year) for workers from interns and contractors to software developers and industrial designers. Windows 365 takes the operating system to the Microsoft Cloud, securely streaming the full Windows experience—including all your apps, data, and settings—to your personal or corporate devices. This approach creates a fully new personal computing category, specifically for the hybrid world: the Cloud PC.
Thanks to its support for browsers this is an "Apple-friendly" way to run Windows that doesn't require Microsoft to have an app in the App Store for iPad or on macOS. It means users of devices like the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 and the M1 iPad Pro (2021) can now run fully-fledged Windows on their devices in-browser thanks to the power of the cloud.
For those who don't want Windows via the cloud, but need a solution for Mac, Parallels has confirmed that it is working to bring Windows 11 to the Mac in a future software update.
