The mobile accompaniment to the forthcoming console game of the same name, Arkham Origins is set in the time before the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games, in the early days of Batman.

Pacific Rim for iOS: Battle giant monsters with a giant robot and go poor in the process

Guillermo Del Toro's new action movie blockbuster Pacific Rim raked in millions during its opening weekend, and it's shaping up to be one of the summer's big tentpole movies. The movie, set in the near future, describes an Earth devastated by giant monsters. Mankind's only defense are a few remaining giant robots controlled by pairs of human pilots who work in tandem to control them. Now there's an iOS game based on the movie available for download. Classic Karateka game coming to iOS

As any retro gaming aficionado will tell you, Karateka is a classic even among classics. It was built on an Apple II computer by Jordan Mechner and released in 1984. And now it's coming to iOS. The goal is still to save Mariko from the evil Warlord Akuma, but instead of one hero with one life, you now get three heroes with one life each, including the True Love, the Monk, and the Brute.

Avengers Initiative for iPhone and iPad review

Avengers Initiative is Infinity Blade starring the Incredible Hulk. At least right now. Marvel, their parent company Disney, and developer Wideload promise more Avengers will be assembling to join the fray in future updates, including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, and the Black Widow. If that sounds a lot like the cast of this summer's blockbuster Avengers movie directed by Joss Whedon, that's probably not a coincidence. This is meant to be mainstream superhero game, but it hides a ton of comic geek love inside as well.
