Popular news app Flipboard has been updated to 2.0 and introduces the ability to make your own magazines. These magazines are made of content you find and collect on Flipboard or the web (with a bookmarklet). The magazines are public and your friends can like and comment on stories.

Digg for iPhone lightens up on Facebook requirements

A couple weeks ago, Digg v1 hit the web and the App Store and one of the immediate complaints was that in order to user any of Digg's special features, like bookmarking articles, saving to your favorite read-later service, or digging an article, you had to be logged into Facebook. The good news is that the folks at Digg were listening and have removed that restriction for bookmarking articles to Digg's Reading List, Pocket, and Instapaper.

New York Times subscribers to pick up full content via Flipboard

New York Times subscribers will soon be able to access the newspaper's complete content through the Flipboard app. The information comes hot on the heels of last week’s news that Google+ content would also start to appear through the hugely popular social reader app for iOS.

Blogshelf II is the successor to Bloglshelf, a uniques RSS and blog reader for the iPad. Imagine iBooks filled with blogs -- that's Blogshelf. It's a gorgeous and relaxing way to stay caught up with your favorite websites.

The Early Edition 2 for iPad now available [giveaway]

The Early Edition for iPad is the digital newspaper and RSS reader that launched alongside the iPad. Over the course of 12 months, Glasshouse Apps has redesigned it from the ground up and just released The Early Edition 2 - and we're gifting away 5 copies!

I wasn't a fan of the original Early Edition, but I am loving The Early Edition 2! The UI is gorgeous and the app runs nice and smooth on my iPad 2. Because of my love for eye candy, one of my favorite features is the manilla envelope that pops up when sharing an article to a social network and the "Shared Copy" stamp that appears just before it pops up.
