What's new on the App Store: Scanner Pro, Lego goes online, and apps for a good backyard barbecue

On the App Store this week, We have a major update to Readdle's Scanner Pro. For students looking for the next step in their education, there's College Passport, which helps you find the right university or college for you. If you're looking to better yourself anyway you can, like taking a walk everyday, or reading more, you might want to check out Streaks, an app for keeping you on task throughout your week.

Several new games have landed in the store this week, such as Sega's new action adventure title, Heroki. The Executive is a new fighting game that pits you against monsters while building up your character. Lego has also published a new game, Lego Minifigures Online, which lets fans build teams of figures and take them on adventures in different Lego worlds. There are also a number of games on sale, like isometric shooter Halo: Spartan Strike, stealth title République, and Lifeline, which also has a version for the Apple Watch.

With summer in full swing, Apple has collected a group of apps for putting together a backyard barbecue. You've got apps for planning, with communication apps like Snapchat or Facebook Messenger, as well as apps for getting the most out of your grill, like the GrillTime grill timer, Food.com Recipes, and more. There are also fun games to play like Heads Up! and Crossy Road.
