Analytix brings ClickyTouch UI to Google Analytics for iPhone, iPad

If you liked the ClickyTouch UI but were already invested in the Google Analytics ecosystem then good news, the two have come together in Analytix for iPhone and the soon-to-be-released Analytix for iPad.

If you're a hardcore iOS user, Google Analytic's website can frustrate with its Flash-rendered graphs. Not so with Analytix. The data is beautifully presented and the charts gorgeously rendered, and it's all run through the secure API so there's no 3rd party getting between you and your numbers. Data refreshes in real time and it works in both portrait and landscape mode to give you the view you want the way you want it.

Gowalla Version 3 now available for iPhone!

Gowalla version 3 in now available in the App Store. This is the most significant update Gowalla has released for iPhone. So what are some of the new features?

For starters there is a completely new interface. At fist, I found it a little confusing, but I can navigate OK now. Beyond the interface overhaul, the most exciting new feature has to be notes. You can leave notes for your friends at a location. So, the next time they check in at your favorite restaurant, they will be notified that a note was left for them.

Google Latitude for iPhone coming soon, will let you track your friends

A native Google Latitude app for iPhone is soon to be released and should be available in an App Store shortly if it isn't already. Latitude is a service that uses location-based check-ins to let you track your friends online (with all appropriate privacy guards, of course).

UPDATE: Latitude has been pulled from the Japanese App Store. TechCrunch thinks the release might have been accidental and an official, publicized release could be coming soon. Now back to the original post already in progress...

While not the brouhaha Google Voice was, Google Latitude's absence from the App Store had been noticed. Could this mean we'll finally get a Google Maps Navigation and -- dare I say it -- native Gmail as well?

Description after the break.

Amplitube 2 for iPhone - App Review

Amplitube 2 by IK Multimedia is an awesome little app that allows you to convert your iPhone into a full on guitar rig. Their iPad version was recently featured in one of the new Apple iPad ads. The app has 3 versions currently - Amplitube Free, Amplitube LE ($2.99), and the full Amplitube version ($19.99). We are using the full version for this review to give you a complete picture of what's available.

To use this app, you'll need to purchase an iRig, which are currently priced at $39.99. You'll simply plug your guitar or bass into the iRig which then plugs into your iPhone or iPad. The 3rd outlet allows you to plug into the audio output of your choice. We just used a standard surround system (receiver) for this review. You're also free to use an amp or headphones, which can be great if you'd like to practice quietly. And hey, it's a lot easier to carry around the iRig than an entire guitar rig.

Air Video for iPhone, iPad updated with multitasking and retina display support

Air Video, a fantastic app that can transcode and stream video content from your Windows PC or Mac straight to your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, has just been updated to include support for multitasking and Retina display.

Your Windows PC or Mac needs a small piece of software installed to communicate with your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad but once setup you can stream native iOS video content (MP4 and M4V) instantly to your device (rather than having to sync it over first via iTunes). Air Video will convert non-supported video formats (AVI, MKV, etc) and either store them for later streaming or stream them on the fly so you can watch now rather than waiting for later.
