How to re-download music, movies, and TV shows to iTunes

If you buy music, movies, and TV shows with iTunes on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or computer, you can easily re-download content on other devices on demand thanks to iTunes in the Cloud. That means you can buy a movie on your iPhone and later download it on your computer through iTunes whenever you'd like. Even better, if you need to delete iTunes content to save space on your Mac or PC, you can re-download iTunes purchases at a later time.

How to re-download music, movies, and TV shows to your Mac or PC

  1. Launch iTunes on your Mac or PC.
  2. Click iTunes in the top menu and then Preferences.
  3. Click on Store along the top navigation in the window that pops up.
  4. Make sure the option for Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases is checked and click OK.
  5. Click on either the Movie, Music, or TV shows icon in the top left navigation.
  6. Click on the first tab labeled either My Movies, My Music, or My TV Shows depending on the content you picked in step 5.
  7. Click on the cloud icon next to the movie, music track, or TV show you'd like to download.
  8. That's it. You can see the progress of your download by clicking on the downloads icon in the upper right hand corner.

How to re-download music, movies, and TV shows to iTunes

I have iTunes 12.0.1.
The "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" is not located as directed in this article. I don't see it at all in the preferences of iTunes.

Worthy tip ! Kind of same in my WP I don't backup my apps in WP I do the same sort of idea when I restore my phone.

You may want to advocate to back up your purchases and not only rely on the cloud. If a content creator makes any change to a movie and they decide to not provide it to customers who previously purchased the movie they can't download the movie from icloud anymore. I lost a couple of my favourite movies this way.

So, If I back-up to the Cloud and purchase a new computer, sync to iTunes I should be able to download the old content on the new PC, correct? I've been putting off upgrading my laptop for this very reason. I was afraid I would lose all of the content I have in iTunes, but my laptop is so old it's annoying slow and lags...
