12 Days of Gifts FAQ

I’m travelling outside of the country or region in which I have my iTunes store account. Does that affect the countdown and when new gifts arrive?

Because the countdown and new gifts are based on the timezone associated with your account, new gifts will be available at midnight in that timezone.

How do I download my gift?

To download a gift, tap View Gift and then tap Free. To download gifts, you must be signed in with your Apple ID. To download books, you must have the free iBooks app installed. Content availability may vary per region.

Why am I getting an error saying gifts aren't available in my country or region?

This can happen if your country or region settings in the 12 Days of Gifts app don’t match your settings in iTunes. Check that your country or region in the 12 Days of Gifts app matches the country or region associated with the billing address of your Apple ID.

Where can I find the gifts I’ve downloaded?

On your computer, you can find your music, TV and film content in your iTunes library and books in your iBooks library. On your iOS device, you can find your music in the Music app, your TV episodes and films in the Videos app, and your books in the iBooks app. Apps will appear on your home screen. Content availability may vary per region.

Why am I having trouble downloading my app over my mobile network?

You must have a WiFi connection to download files over 100 MB.

How can I get enough storage to download my gift on my iPhone, iPad or iPod?

If you don’t have enough free storage, you can delete other apps or media from your device to create space for your gift. If you don’t want to delete any apps or media from your iOS device, you can download your gift on your computer. Note that some content may be designed for iPad or iPhone, and may not be supported on a computer. Learn more.

How can I access my gifts on my computer, Apple TV or other iOS devices?

With iTunes in the Cloud, your gifts and other content can be accessed with your other devices, including your computer and Apple TV. Note that iTunes in the Cloud is only available in certain countries and regions, and some content may not be supported on all devices. Learn more about iTunes in the Cloud.

Film rentals are not transferrable to other devices. Learn more about film rentals.

Why is my book in a different language?

Book offers in Canada are available in French and English. You can choose to download your gift in either language. For additional help, go to the Books section of iTunes Support.

How long will it take my film to download?

Your download time will depend on the speed of your Internet connection. Learn more.

Can I download my film later?

Yes. You can download your film later from the Videos app or your iTunes library.

How long do I have to watch my film rental?

Why can’t I access my free film rental from my other devices?

If you download a rented film on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later) or Apple TV, it is not transferable to any other device or computer. Learn more about film rentals.

How can I watch my film with subtitles or in a different language?

Can both the iPhone and iPad get 12 different gifts if registered to the same Apple ID?

Becjr says:

I'm sure the account gets the gift & you can enjoy the gift over your devices as if it was a purchase you made from the iTunes Store- excluding a free rental of course. That's pinned to the device you start viewing it on.

I sure hope we get some great gifts from Apple this time. Last year's was just okay, nothing special.
C'mon Apple, we'll be waiting so you better bring it! :)

It's a shame that what was once '12 Days of Christmas' is now '12 Days of Gifts'.
I guess it reflects the ever increasing commercialism of the festive period.
