Getting your hands on a new iPhone doesn't have to mean shelling out nearly $1,000 on the latest model. It wasn't all that long ago people were hyped about the iPhone 8, and while it may not be a top-of-the-line device this year, it's still a seriously dependable phone that has all the access you need to download the latest apps, keep in touch with your close friends, and more. Now that it's available for only $5/monthly at Verizon, it's even harder to recommend buying one of the more recent options instead.
To be eligible for this offer, you must add a new line to your account. In the process, you'll be saving $14 each month off the regular cost of this device. You'll see a credit added to your bill each month for 24 months to cover that cost, bringing its total down to just $120 over that period of time. That's a far cry from its regular price of $450 otherwise. You can also choose to buy the phone outright at $450 and receive bill credits over a 24-month period to cover the discount, which might be useful if you like racking up credit card points by making big purchases.
iOS For Less
Why pay a ton of money for the latest iPhone just for it to be one-upped come next year? Sticking with the previous generation iPhone 8 can save you a ton of cash and snag you a device that's nearly as good.
It's been over a year since we called the iPhone 8 "the upgrade many people will be looking for", but that still holds true if you're on an older device. The iPhone 8 is more than capable of handling all the latest apps and games, taking stunning photos and videos, wireless charging, and more at a fraction of the cost of the more recent models like the iPhone 11.
While the iPhone 8 doesn't have the edge-to-edge screen and Face ID of newer devices, it has solid specs for day-to-day use and supports Apple's latest iOS 13 software. It has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with 3D Touch, True Tone and Touch ID fingerprint tech. The pixel resolution is 1334x750 at 326 ppi. The rear camera is 12MP and the front camera is 7MP. The processor is Apple's speedy A11 chip and the phone is water-resistant, too. Check out our review for a more in-depth look.
If you're willing to step back even further and grab the iPhone 7, Verizon is offering the device for free when you add a line to your account for a limited time.
