Amazon is offering Apple's newly-announced 10.5-inch iPad Air from just $479 right now. That price applies to the 64GB model in all three available colors and saves you $20 off the retail price. If you want a cellular-enabled model, the 64GB silver version with cellular is currently $10 off. These are the first direct price drops we've seen for the newest iPad Air at Amazon since its release and the only sale outside of Best Buy's pre-order discount for its members during the product's launch week. B&H is matching the discount on select models if you prefer to shop there.

Newly-updated

Apple 10.5-inch iPad Air

Make the most of this rare discount on Apple's newest iPad Air. With its larger 10.5-inch True Tone display, Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard support, and powerful A12 Bionic chip, it's a worthy upgrade from the previous-gen iPad Air.

$479 $499 $20 off

Announced just last month, the newest iPad Air's screen size jumps up to 10.5 inches with this update. It also gains the A12 Bionic system-on-a-chip for a 70% boost in performance and twice the graphics capability of its 9.7-inch predecessor. The display also supports Apple's True Tone technology for color accuracy in all ambient light settings. Like the previous-gen 10.5-inch iPad Pro, the new iPad Air makes use of the Smart Connector on the edge of the device to support the Smart Keyboard and also maintains compatibility with the first-gen Apple Pencil.

It's pretty rare for such a new Apple product to receive a direct discount like this — we're only just starting to see some decent sales on the latest iPad Pro models and they were released back in November.
