Crazy Taxi: City Rush begins its ride on the iPhone and iPad

Crazy Taxi: City Rush, the newest entry in Sega's cult hit driving game franchise, has now started to take its first fares on the iPhone and iPad with its release in the iOS App Store.

You may remember that we posted a hands-on preview of the game back in March, but now you can experience it for yourself. Like previous games in the series, Crazy Taxi: City Rush has the player taking on the role of a taxi driver trying to pick up and transport his customers around the city in a wild and rather wacky fashion, with the city full of powers ups and other challenges to deal with.

The new game, made especially for the iPhone and iPad, allows the player to customize his taxi cab for the first time. There's also a new control scheme made for touchscreen displays and players can make their way in a number of new city maps. There's even a way for the game to link to your Facebook account so that you can transport your friends around who might also be playing the game.

While Crazy Taxi: City Rush is a free game to download, be aware there are in-game purchases for extra content. What do you think of this classic series making the move to the iPhone and iPad?
