Sega Genesis Classics makes its way to the Nintendo Switch this winter

Prepare yourself for that sweet sting of nostalgia. Sega just announced that its Sega Genesis Classics retro game collection will be heading to the Nintendo Switch later this year, featuring over fifty classic titles. Sega Genesis Classics saw a release earlier this year on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 priced at $29.99 each. The Nintendo Switch version will also be available for $30 upon its release.

The wide range included in the collection not only features classic games like Sonic The Hedgehog and Streets of Rage 2, but also lesser-known titles. Enhancements have been made to the games too; they now offer the ability to save whenever, rewind mistakes, and customize controls. There are also achievements to earn now, along with online multiplayer. With that in mind, you might want to think about getting a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.

Local multiplayer is possible too. The Nintendo Switch version allows you to play using just one of the Joy-Con controllers instead of the set while sharing the other with a friend for two-player mode.

Though a release date has yet to be announced for the game, it's currently available to pre-order for $29.99 at Amazon.
