AlwaysOnline Wireless Doubles LTE Data and Offers New Global Mobile Plans Exclusively for iPad Users With Apple SIM
SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - March 31, 2016) - AlwaysOnline Wireless (operated by Otono Networks Inc.) today announced that it has enhanced and expanded its market-leading 'LTE-On-Demand' service for iPad users with Apple SIM with new high value data plans and increased data across existing plans. The newly released 9.7-inch iPad Pro features an embedded Apple SIM making it even more convenient for iPad customers to connect to and manage our short-term data plans directly on their iPad in 48 countries, avoiding the hassle of buying a local SIM when they travel.
A leader in short-term, data coverage for iPad users with Apple SIM, AOW is offering additional high value plans for high usage customers, including a 3GB/30 Day data plan. This new plan provides users with the high-speed, stable, and affordable option they have been asking for. AOW's trademark 99-cent hourly plan is also now available in 27 countries, up from 11, including Spain, France and Japan.
Additionally, AOW is increasing the amount of data offered across all of its existing plans without increasing rates. Hourly plans are being increased from 15 MB to 20MB per hour, daily plans are being increased from 100MB to 200MB per day and AOW's by-the-megabyte plans are doubling from 250MB and 500MB for 15 days to 500MB and 1GB respectively.
"In a world where being constantly connected is crucial, there are times when you really need connectivity on the go and you don't want to plan your travel around Wi-Fi hotspots," said Emir Aboulhosn, CEO and Founder of Otono. "That's why we are the first to offer a global LTE roaming service with plans as short as one hour and up to 30 days -- everything a traveling iPad user could need. Now with the embedded Apple SIM in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad customers will find it even easier to connect no matter where they go."
"We know some carriers tout a wider reach, but they are compromising on the quality of their data offering, as well as their cost structure. We believe LTE provides the optimal balance of speed and cost for our business, allowing us to create the only LTE-On-Demand platform for iPad with Apple SIM. That's why we focus on LTE and not 2G or 3G networks," explains Oren Chervinsky, VP, Global Sales & Marketing.
The new 9.7-inch iPad Pro introduces breakthrough pro features and advanced technologies, including a pro Retina display with greater brightness, pro performance with the 64-bit A9X chip, advanced 12-megapixel iSight camera for shooting Live Photos and 4K video and an embedded Apple SIM. The new iPad Pro supports faster LTE Advanced with up to 50 percent faster cellular connectivity, the most LTE bands supported by any tablet and 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MIMO technology. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi + Cellular models are compatible with Apple SIM and all deliver ultra-fast wireless connectivity with support for a wide range of LTE bands and other fast cellular network technologies (DCHSDPA, HSPA+). Apple SIM is configured in Wi-Fi + Cellular models in the U.S. and U.K. and is available for individual purchase at Apple Retail Stores in 13 countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, US and Turkey.
AlwaysOnline Wireless is the first carrier to offer short-term wireless plans for iPad users with Apple SIM, available from one hour on-demand to 30 days. AOW made its name by offering users low cost, small bucket data offerings for "gap coverage" needs, when users are between Wi-Fi spots. However, the LTE offering has proven too tempting for users, as usage has been migrating into higher usage buckets since its initial launch in 2015. AOW does not expect users to take plans that are far too large for their needs, but rather, offers users a multitude of options to suit any data requirement.
