iPad, Apple Watch lead to record online sales for Target on Thanksgiving

Major U.S. retailer Target had its biggest online shopping day of the year on Thanksgiving, with Apple devices helping to set records. Sales yesterday outpaced the record sales that Target saw during Thanksgiving 2014, and were driven by three major items: iPads, the Apple Watch, and Nintendo's Wii U.

According to Forbes, iPads were the top selling item at Target on Thanksgiving, with the retailer selling an average of one iPad every second throughout the day. While the Apple Watch was the second-most sought-after item online, it was also very popular in stores. The Beats Solo2 headphones also appear to have been among the top products, both online and in stores.

While not offering direct discounts on most of its iPad stock, Target is currently offering a $100 Target gift card with the purchase of several models of the iPad mini 4, iPad Air, and iPad Air 2. You can also get a $100 gift card with the purchase of an Apple Watch.
