1Password for Mac has arrived at version 6.0, adding new features for vaults and better password generation. Customers who purchased 1Password directly from developer AgileBits instead of the Mac App Store can now also take advantage of iCloud syncing.

You'll now be able to view all of your 1Password vaults at once in version 6.0. This includes both your personal vaults and 1Password for Teams vaults. The All Vaults view is customizable as well, showing only the vaults you want to see. If you're part of the 1Password for Teams beta, you can also view all of the vaults for your Team.

1Password's strong password generator has gotten a boost with this update. You can now choose the Words option, which will generate a new password composed of random words from a 1Password-approved list. For a random set of letters and numbers, select the Characters option.

With 1Password 6.0 comes the addition of iCloud sync for all users, not just those using the Mac App Store version. However using iCloud is a bit different for those that purchase directly from AgileBits. From the AgileBits blog:

From our customers' point of view, iCloud Sync in the AgileBits Store version of 1Password will look a little bit different during the initial setup. CloudKit JS does not use the iCloud settings from OS X, so to authenticate with Apple, 1Password will prompt you to log in to your iCloud account by displaying the iCloud login page in your default web browser. Once you have logged in to your iCloud account, CloudKit web services sends an authentication token back to 1Password, which it then stores (securely, of course). This enables 1Password to sync with iCloud without having to reauthenticate each time.

1Password 6 is available for download from the AgileBits website, and is a free update for 1Password 4 and 5 customers. New customers will need to pay $49.99 after their free trial period. The Mac App Store version of 1Password will receive the free update following approval from Apple.
