Apple releases iOS 4.3.4 and iOS 4.2.9 PDF security fix

Apple has released iOS 4.3.4 for iPad, iPod touch, and GSM /AT&T iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, and iOS 4.2.9 for Verizon iPhone, which addresses the dangerous PDF security exploit utilized by Jailbreakme.com.

Plug into iTunes and check for updates to get it. As always, if you're Jailbroken already, stay away or you'll lose your Jailbreak.

Limeys says:

This is irresponsible of the author to mention dangerous and jailbreakme.com in the same sentence without giving the facts the reader the facts.

Dildo says:

I agree, the state of rene's articles have gradually declined in how accurate and informative they are.

iMatt says:

You've declined - not rene !!
(worst retort of my life!!!)

ShadowReaperX33 says:

I agree...the quality of Rene's posts is declining. Sad as he generally was one of TiPBS best

cobra302 says:

how do you figure that this is an irresponsible post? the exploit, as any exploit, is potentially dangerous in that it can be used against your phone. jailbreakme.com uses said exploit, thats all that was said. you're post is irresponsible in that it makes it seem as if there is more than meets the eye here. its like cursing in front of a child and someone making a big deal out of it. the kid may not have even heard the curse to begin with.

igorsky says:

He didn't say Jailbreakme.com is dangerous. He said that the security exploit is. Anytime there's backdoor exploit that allows someone to get access to your phone, that's dangerous.

Guacho says:

those on ios5 beta 3 will be able to go back to 4.3.3 ??..

Unc says:

Couldnt agree more dangerous lol come on the percentage of people that know how to hack the iphone is so low u could go ur lifetime and never worry renee ur garbage writer canadas just for you

The other Mike says:

Sheez.....your parents should sue the public school system you went to. Judging by your last post, she's got an open and shut case.

Unc says:

Then u should be shot for payin 10 times as much for a product with an apple logo on it

Unc says:

Really the only thing people can comment on is grammar lol tipb grow up so u can justify your isheep purchases

Bob Marley14 says:

You are a sheep yourself for trolling, toolbar.

Iphonedhome says:

Hes a troll for telling the truth ? Grow up guys

Ajay says:

Yes, but the iOS 5 backup isn't compatible with 4.3.3. Incase you decide to downgrade, be prepared to setup your device as a new one.

Fox says:

I agree with Limeys, irresponsible and unprofessional.

thedadams says:

Tried to update my iPhone 3GS and my iPad 2, but it's not working. Says that both devices "are not eligible for the requested build."

Apple is for idiots says:

Steve Jobs can still see your everymove, doesn't matter what kind of patch they give you kids.

Bob Marley14 says:

Trolling, trolling, trolling.........move on, genius.

JailBreak says:

All the jailbreakers are forbifing everyone from downloading the latest version of the iOS 4.3.4 before they get its jailbreak ready. Save the SHSH blobs. In case you accidentally or intentionally update you will loose all of your Cydia Apps and other jailbreak settings.

Jeffrey Glenn Mills says:

wdfly says:

the 80's called, they want their silly liberal cliche' back. :)

Blain says:

do you all not have something better to do other than to bash on Rene? If you don't like what he blogs then stay the f*ck out!

Rob White says:

I believe most were invited in here to comment on stories/posts by Rene who values their opinions. And that's all it is; their opinions. They are not getting personal or anything just questioning some of the man's articles. I'm certain he can defend himself quite well as the chief of the blog site.

Erict1995 says:

Forget all of this I want iOS 5 NOW!!!!!!!

Adam says:

Just don't forget to:
1) Save your SHSH blobs with TinyUmbrella so you can restore to 4.3.3 whenever you'd like
2) Install PDF Patcher 2 from Cydia to patch the PDF exploit

josh says:

Most, if not damn near all of us, have no idea what a "malicious PDF file security exploit" even means. Where to you go to find this? Where do you have to be to even have it as a possibility? Has this happened to anyone you know, because I'm sure it hasn't happened to you? All I know is my jailbroken device works perfect everyday. Maybe if it wasn't called "JailBreaking", maybe there wouldn't be a negative stigma attached to it. I GUARANTEE that at the time of purchase of your iDevice you were given the choice; 90% or more would choose the jailbroken options over the standard UI limitations.
