Apple releases iOS 4.3.4 and iOS 4.2.9 PDF security fix for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Apple has released iOS 4.3.4 for iPad, iPod touch, and GSM /AT&T iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, and iOS 4.2.9 for Verizon iPhone, which addresses the dangerous PDF security exploit utilized by Jailbreakme.com.
Plug into iTunes and check for updates to get it. As always, if you're Jailbroken already, stay away or you'll lose your Jailbreak.

This is irresponsible of the author to mention dangerous and jailbreakme.com in the same sentence without giving the facts the reader the facts.

how do you figure that this is an irresponsible post? the exploit, as any exploit, is potentially dangerous in that it can be used against your phone. jailbreakme.com uses said exploit, thats all that was said. you're post is irresponsible in that it makes it seem as if there is more than meets the eye here. its like cursing in front of a child and someone making a big deal out of it. the kid may not have even heard the curse to begin with.
He didn't say Jailbreakme.com is dangerous. He said that the security exploit is. Anytime there's backdoor exploit that allows someone to get access to your phone, that's dangerous.

Yes, but the iOS 5 backup isn't compatible with 4.3.3. Incase you decide to downgrade, be prepared to setup your device as a new one.

Tried to update my iPhone 3GS and my iPad 2, but it's not working. Says that both devices "are not eligible for the requested build."

All the jailbreakers are forbifing everyone from downloading the latest version of the iOS 4.3.4 before they get its jailbreak ready. Save the SHSH blobs. In case you accidentally or intentionally update you will loose all of your Cydia Apps and other jailbreak settings.

Most, if not damn near all of us, have no idea what a "malicious PDF file security exploit" even means. Where to you go to find this? Where do you have to be to even have it as a possibility? Has this happened to anyone you know, because I'm sure it hasn't happened to you? All I know is my jailbroken device works perfect everyday. Maybe if it wasn't called "JailBreaking", maybe there wouldn't be a negative stigma attached to it. I GUARANTEE that at the time of purchase of your iDevice you were given the choice; 90% or more would choose the jailbroken options over the standard UI limitations.
