Apple announces conference call date for Q4 2012 earnings

Apple has announced that they will be holding their financial results conference call for Q4 on Thursday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET. This will be the first earnings call with the iPhone 5 sales numbers in them. The iPhone 5 sold 5 million units in its first weekend. It was on sale for a little over a week before the end of the quarter, so it will be interesting to see how much total sales are influenced by such a small window.

Nintendo posts first annual financial loss, iPhone continues leading portable gaming

Nintendo recently posted their full-year financial results, which included their first operating loss amounting to a deficit of $458 million. Over the whole year, Nintendo sold 13.5 million 3DS portable systems worldwide; to put that in perspective, Apple sold about 9 million iPhones in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2012 alone.

Rogers sees 35% increase in iPhone activations since last year

Rogers reported their financial results for the first quarter of 2012 this morning, and cited an increase of 35% in iPhone sales compared to Q1 2011, which is a marked step up from the 20% average growth among all of their smartphones.

Sprint scrapes by in Q1 2012 with 1.5 million iPhone sales, sees $863 million net loss

Sprint announced their first quarter results today, seeing an operating loss of $255 million, and a net loss of $863 million, but enjoyed 1.5 million iPhone sales, 44% of which were new customers. Last quarter, Sprint sold 1.8 million iPhones with a similar proportion of new additions.

AT&T activates 4.3 million iPhones in Q1 2012, accounts for 78% of smartphone sales

This morning AT&T issued their Q1 2012 financial results, where they casually mentioned that of the 5.5 million smartphones sold, 4.3 million were iPhones (and 21% were new to AT&T).

Apple announces conference call date for Q2 2012 financial results

Apple has announced that they'll be telling us precisely how insanely rich they are after new iPad sales on April 24, 2012. On the first weekend alone, Apple was able to sell three million new iPads, and one can only imagine how much that figure has ballooned since then, especially if the Q2 2012 results are taking into account the international releases that followed.

T-Mobile sees Q4 slump, blames everyone else having an iPhone 4S

T-Mobile had a rough final quarter of 2011, and openly pointed the finger at iPhone 4S launches on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon as the cause. Total revenues at T-Mobile were $5.2 billion, down from $5.4 billion in Q4 2010, and customer losses amounted 526,000 for the quarter, compared to a 23,000 customer loss at the same time last year.
