Beat movie theater pricing with the iTunes Ultimate Movie Weekend sale starting at $1

Not enough time to make it to the movie theater this weekend? You're in luck, as iTunes' Ultimate Movie Weekend Sale (opens in new tab) is now live and offering wide-reaching discounts on recent releases, cult classics, and more. Considering how expensive a single movie ticket can be these days, this sale could let you have an affordable family movie night every week.
iTunes has over 200 movies to rent at a discount this weekend, including old favorites starting at $0.99 and recent releases priced up to $2.99.
Prices Vary
Today's sale gives you the choice of owning or renting the film you select; many of them are now on sale to own for just $5 in digital HD while various hit movie rentals are discounted to $0.99 and $1.99 apiece. Movie rentals at iTunes give you 30 days to start watching and 48 hours to finish after the film has started. Tons of new releases (opens in new tab) are $2.99 to rent currently, while fan favorites (opens in new tab) like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone are now just $0.99 each to rent.
If you'd rather add films to your digital library permanently, there's an array of great options in this weekend's sale for as low as $5 each (opens in new tab), including the following:
- Django Unchained (opens in new tab)
- Fast & Furious (opens in new tab)
- La La Land (opens in new tab)

The sale doesn't end there, as you can find even more films discounted (opens in new tab) to $6 and $7 each right now. Meanwhile, this 10-film Classic 90s Collection bundle (opens in new tab) for $29.99 is one of the best values available currently, as you'll score ten hit films from the 90s at just $3 apiece. Many of the films even come with bonus features so you can get a further look into their creation.
If you'd rather own your movies outright, this is the section you want to check out; it offers a ton of films at various price points so you can add to your digital library for less than the price of a movie ticket.
