iDevices brings Amazon Alexa support to its smart home products

iDevices, the company behind a number of home automation products compatible with Apple's HomeKit, has announced that its range of smart plugs, connected thermostats, and more will now be compatible with Amazon's Alexa voice assistant through the Echo speaker and other products.

In order to use your iDevices appliances with Alexa, you'll need to use the iDevices Connected app for iPhone and iPad. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner of the app, then select Settings at the bottom of the menu. Under Amazon Alexa, connect your Amazon account and your devices. The final step is to head over to Amazon's Alexa app and add the iDevices skill.

From there, you can create appliance groups to easily turn multiple iDevices products on and off with a single command, and manage how these products interact with your Amazon devices. Once you've finished, you're all set to command your iDevices appliances using commands like "Alexa, turn off my lights."

If you don't yet have any iDevices home automation products, you can find the whole selection over at Amazon.
